Beautifully Broken

Beautifully Broken

The Mosaic Tile House brightened my life with its beautifully broken beauty.  If it's not yet already on the most reputable "Top things to see in Los Angeles" travel guide lists it should be.  This hidden wanderlust gem in Venice makes you feel like you're walking into a fantasy magic color and mirror land.  Gracious home owners and fine artists Cheri and Gonzalo are inspirational.  They have been working on building this ever evolving masterpiece since March 1994.  Not only was I inspired by the fact that they daily pursue a craft and love of art, but I was inspired of the love that they show to each other (as seen both in person and in many pieces and pictures throughout their home)  Moreover, I am inspired by the invitation of their home that they extend to the public and to fellow art and wanderlust seekers.  They truly make their house a home.

As for my outfit of choice for the day, I knew I wanted to wear a muted down fabric and color hue.  I was going for an overall non-flashy vibe knowing I'd have the ultimate color wheel and every type of textured medium imaginable as my main backdrop.  I opted for a grey jumpsuit, comfortable chunky boots, a small tan purse and a few rings and bracelets.  The only piece I decided to get trendy with in order to bring my simple outfit to life was a very fun, flirty and flowy necklace that had pops of gold and blue.  Sometimes you have to dress to your surroundings to showcase what should really be seen and if you're visiting The Mosaic Tile House there is an endless maze of color and surprises to be imprinted in your vision for a lifetime.

Shine bright,
