The Modern Honolulu

The Modern Honolulu makes you feel like you've discovered a vacation on your vacation.  I didn't stay here this trip (I came to dine at The Grove and grab a drink at the Sunset Beach bar - which BTW are both totally 5-star Yelp worthy!) but this hotel is definitely on my list for next time as I would love to experience this boutique gem even more.  The chic and trendy scene and vibe, the adult only Sunset Beach pool and the 'what's this Pandora station?' music all make you feel like life is simply Aloha.  The Sunset Beach pool alone makes you debate how you want to split your time between the actual beach and lounging in luxury.  I sipped on a pineapple martini and although I've had one before, this one seemed to taste just a little bit better simply because I was in Hawaii (and simply because I was savoring in everything The Modern Honolulu offers)  

As for my dress, I needed something casual and comfy but something that was still edgy and dinner appropriate.  I found this dress at Target in Hawaii where I was supposed to just go for a 'sunscreen only' run (obvi I browsed around further than the toiletries aisle)  This dress is intricately embroidered at the top giving a lot of texture to such simple style.  I paired it with Guess wooden wedges and gold jewelry to add a little glimmer and shine.
