Lavender life
For someone who obsesses over all things lavender - from bubble bath, body lotion, hand soap, essential oils, infused coffee, etc. etc. etc. - When I found out about the Ali'l Kula Lavender farm in Maui I was low key more exited to spend my day there over the beautiful beaches. There is something magical about the AKL farm and quite frankly I'm not sure if it is the:
- Serenity of being surrounded by over 55,000+ lavender plants
- The peaceful and spiritual emotions that overtake you when walking throughout the garden grounds
- The unexplainable beauty of the views of the Island from 4,000 feet up above
- Indulging in lavender infused coffee, tea, lemonade, and scones
- That the farm practices sustainable farming and how AKL works so closely with locals and local businesses to prosper together
- Learning Ali'i's life story and how he turned his passions, ideas, and dreams into a reality; moreover, how his son Koa is continuing his dad's legacy and further expanding and growing the farm with his own ideas, knowledge and passions (I cannot wait to someday go back and check out the apple tree hammocks, Koa!)
To sum it all up (but not even giving it enough justice), the farm is a secret and magical garden that I hope every person who visits Maui has the opportunity to experience. Whether you just go there for a cup of coffee, for a guided tour, go to meditate, to take photography, or just explore for the day with friends/family - the vibe that it brings you is essential to feeling and sustaining the Aloha spirit of our mother earth.
Here's to a lavender life,
