Valley Views in Valley Center, CA
There are peaks near every single valley and Valley Center, CA has so many hidden gem valley peaks and perks. It’s a great staycation for SoCal locals and worth the visit for anyone looking to escape and getaway. It’s neighbored (although somewhat of a drive where you definitely need a car) to a popular winery area and many casinos, but overall the city is desolate where it gives you the opportunity to isolate from it all. My two go-to’s I stay and visit at are right down the street from each other, Harrah’s Resort Southern California and Hill Top Winery - they’re pretty much my only go-to’s when I visit but they offer such R&R.
Harrah’s Resort Southern California: I am always going to be a huge fan of this resort. YES it is remote and there is not much around; but in my opinion, the desolation of the resort itself is a hidden gem. CONS: there aren’t too many restaurants or shops or grocery options on or near the resort (although there’s enough to get you by) Quite frankly, there is not much else around unless you drive out of the area. However, PROS: the pools are absolutely magical and fun!! There’s a swim up bar, lazy river, and multiple jacuzzi’s with waterfalls. And there’s nothing like hitting the slot machines and getting lucky $$$!!! Although it would be nice to have more to see and do, I think limiting the options makes it more exclusive and serene to the pool and casino guests only.
Hill Top Winery: What a hidden gem in the Valley. This special winery makes you feel on top of the world with its patio view. There are endless hills, never-ending manicured grapes vines, and chairs overlooking from the tip top to make you feel transported to somewhere lush and peaceful. The sampler for the wines is the perfect insta-worthy pic.
It’s always nice to getaway and Valley Center, CA is one of those places where less is more. If you ever run into anything new in the area or have any suggestions for me to visit next time, please share.
Enjoy the peaks in Valley Center!
