SeaWorld
So I was skeptic to blog about my visit to SeaWorld because of the obvious ongoing controversy in the media but also because of my own personal torn opinion. Since I was invited to go and have not been there since circa '95 I figured I would experience it again with an open mind and open eyes. To briefly sum it all up: Do I wish that all of the animals in SeaWorld lived in their natural habitat, were not a form of entertainment value and that I did not get so emotional after watching some of the shows? YES. Has SeaWorld provided a home for some injured, rescued and/or orphaned animals, provided a space where children gain knowledge about these animals and our environment and is the park beautifully manicured and enjoyable to walk around? Yes. Although I feel that I still keep a half/half opinion about the pros vs. cons on SeaWorld, I no doubt had a great day and am very thankful and grateful to have visited.
In terms of my outfit for the day, I had no intention of blogging about my outfit I originally went to the park dressed in. It ended up being a pretty chilly day and I was not prepared so immediately went browsing for a sweater to warm up. I ended up finding in the front gift shop a super trendy but touristy sweater that was 60% off because it had 2015 across it. 2015 was an amazing year for me and I had no problem sporting a "dated" sweater. The sweater is bright, fun and themed and I loved wearing it throughout the park. I also ended up checking off another box on my bucket list by meeting a mermaid in the parks Mermaid Grotto which is such a cute and playful part of the park. They also have these adorable flowing fun mermaid crowns for purchase in the Mermaid Grotto store and they are only six dollars. You better believe my inner mermaid self bought and wore that crown with pride alongside my new sweater. I love that magical mermaid land and felt like my youthful circa '95 self again.
There are a million fish in the sea but I am a mermaid,
